Our holiday lets are located near the town of Ryde on the Isle of Wight, an Island just off the south coast of England. The body of water separating us from the mainland is called The Solent, and the nearest major cities are Southampton and Portsmouth. There are no bridges, tunnels or commercial flights connecting us to the mainland, so the only way to reach us is by boat. The short boat journey is part of what makes our location special – the Island moves at a slower pace.
Wightsands and Appleysands are next door to each other.
This is why we think they have a great location:
- They are on a quiet residential estate.
- They are only a few minutes walk away from an excellent restaurant.
- A 5 minute walk from Appley beach and numerous childrens play areas.
- A 20 minute walk from Ryde town.
- A 5 minute drive from Tesco Extra and other popular outlets.
- Within a 20 minute drive of the majority of the Islands main attractions.

There is also a chain ferry which crosses the River Medina between East and West Cowes. Both foot passengers and vehicles must pay a small fee, but its convenient location can mean avoiding congestion through the Islands administrative center, Newport.
